![]() ![]() TUESDAY: High pressure will build up from the south and end precipitation from south Washington all the way up to about Clallam and Skagit Counties by Tuesday afternoon. A Puget Sound Convergence Zone is expected to develop around Snohomish County to keep showers around through Tuesday morning but, another weak front may bring areas of light rain or drizzle through early afternoon Tuesday, mainly north of Seattle and across the northern half of western Washington. Once the morning cold front passes with the heavier rain, it is the trailing trough that keeps showers going into the evening. Current rain estimates for the north Washington coast and Olympic Mountains are 1.50"-3.00". Rain amounts will range from 0.50"-0.75" around the Sound with higher amounts closer to the Canadian border and all along the coast. After steady rain early in the day, the afternoon will be filled with rain showers, heavy at times, and the highest risk of a thunderstorm should fall between 3 p.m. Peak wind gusts of 20-30 mph across Seattle and central Puget Sound will occur between 8 a.m. ![]() MONDAY: Rain will begin early in the morning and the commute will be during rain that may be heavy at times. The moisture packed front will create a very rainy, breezy, morning and a gusty, day with heavy showers and a few thunderstorms across western Washington. The fall trend of rainy Mondays continues this time the heaviest rain over the Olympic Peninsula may bring the Skokomish River to action stage.
